Iffet, summary of episode 6

Ali Ihsan's daughter, Nil, comes home from London where she is a student. Iffet thinks about making a surprise to her - a special dinner and a cake, so they become quickly friends. However, Ms. Dilek is not satisfied with Iffet's surprise, because she believes that everything the maid does, is to achieve her goal of becoming Ali Ihsan's wife, for his money.

Erhan starts drinking again. Ali gives him a job in the company and tries to get him not come back to his past behavior; he forces him to get a haircut and behave properly.

Cemil is sorry for what he did to Iffet but now is too late, the wedding preparations are almost done. Though, the neighbors spread gossip about him and his leaving Iffet pregnant.

Nil lives in a house given by her father and takes professional pictures as a hobby. One day she wants to take pictures of Istanbul, together with Iffet, and calls a taxi. By chance, Cemil comes wby his cab and feels very uncomfortable seeing Iffet again. She notices that he wears a wedding ring on his finger. Then Betul calls him up and Iffet begins to speak loudly, to be heard on the phone.Betul is unpleasantly surprised and Cemil is forced to hang up because he was about to drive on a wrong way. When they get at the destination, Nil gets down to take pictures while Cemil and Iffet have a pretty heated discussion. When they come back home, Iffet pays for the drive trying to humiliate Cemil who later gives the money to a poor boy on the street.

One evening Iffet, Ali Ihsan and Nil go to a restaurant, while Ms Dilek is waiting them to dine at home. Ali Ihsan is more and more in love with Iffet but she is still very shy and doesn't think about having feelings for her master, an older man in his fifties. Cemil with Betul and a friend of theirs come at the same restaurant. Again there is a discussion between Iffet and Cemil in the lobby. Betul sees Iffet on a couch with Ali Ihsan, and begins to gossip about that.

Ali Ihsan tries to be next to Iffet all the time. Sometimes Ms. Dilek discreetly watches them. The days pass and Ali Ihsan teaches Iffet to shot with a gun, while she thinks about taking revenge from Cemil.
Finally the wedding day comes. Ahmet watches the procession on the window, but Iffet goes to the wedding hall and assists to the ceremony. Meanwhile, Ahmet leaves home with a kitchen knife and when the couple get out of the building, he stabs Cemil who falls down on the stairs while the guests scream frightened.

Medcezir / Tide - presentation of the TV series

Yaman (Cagatay Ulusoy) is a young man who lives in a poor neighborhood of Istanbul with his parents (mother and stepfather) and elder brother, Kenan. The latter is a criminal, but Yaman has good potential and would be a successful person if he were given a chance. On his birthday evening Kenan steals a car, takes his brother with him and they are immediately caught by the police. Both brothers have the chance to be given a good lawyer, Selim Serez, who sees Yaman potential and absolves him of any blame. Though, Kenan is sentenced to a year of prison because he had been involved in various crimes before.

Selim is married to a rich woman, Ender, who is an architect, and they have a teenager son, Mert. They live in his wife's parents' villa in a luxurious neighborhood. Because Yaman has reached a difficult time of his life as soon as the trial finishes, Selim offers to help him with shelter and job in exchange for the promise to continue his education and stay out of trouble. Here Yaman meets Mira, a rich girl living next to Selim's villa, who falls in love with Yaman at first sight and then, little by little this sparkle will develop into a deep love.

But can they adapt to the situation they are involved in?  Can Yaman fully understand the rich men's world and can Mira overcome all prejudices and love a man who comes from a very different social background​​?

Cast:

Cagatay Ulusoy - Yaman  Koper, an intelligent teenager who grew up in a poor family with problems. His father left the family and the stepfather behaves tough with his wife and her children.

Serenay Sarikaya - Mira Beylice, eldest daughter of Faruk Beylice. Beautiful, rich, the most popular girl in the neighborhood of the rich, she has a long lasting friendship with Orkun and she is expected to marry him.

Ölmez Taner - Mert Serez, Selim and Ender's son, a very smart boy but rather introverted. His only friends are the comic books heroes. He becomes very close to Yaman.

Mine Tugay - Ender, Mert 's mother and wife of Selim, a successful architect, the daughter of a prominent and influential businessman, Asim Sekip Kaya.

Bariş Falay - Selim, a successful lawyer who comes from a poor family, as well as Yaman. He had the chance to be helped and managed to reach a high social position by himself. During the college he fell in love with Ender, a rich girl, who became his wife.

Iffet episode 5 summary

Dilek and Ali Ihsan have some argues concerning what happened with Erhan, Emine and Iffet. Later, Dilek will try to persuade Iffet that his older brother has secret and bad intentions so she would better not trust him. Though, Iffet thinks about her being rescued by Ali Ihsan and doesn't take Dilek's advice seriously.

After several days, when she feels better, she calls Nimet and asks her to put her clothes in a bag because she will come later to take it, when Ahmet is at the butchery. Nimet has packed Iffet's clothes, but no sooner had Nimet finished packing than Ahmet returned too. When he sees that his daughter tries to help her elder sister, he gets angry and wants to beat Iffet again but he has a heart attack. Ahmet goes to the hospital.

While Ali Ihsan wants to split off Gulin, Erhan, who likes her, tries to show her his feelings. Gulin starts drinking and being depressed because Ali Ihsan doesn't want to answer her phone calls, she accepts to spend one night with Erhan in her house. In the morning, when she wakes up, she Erhan away.

Iffet has heard rumors about Cemil and Betul's engagement ceremony. She has the power to go in Betul's house to assist for several minutes then she goes back to the villa. Feyyaz and Serpil tell to Betul's mother that it is not normal what happened and that God will punish the two fiancees because Cemil left a pregnant woman. Some days later, Cemil still loving Iffet very much, comes to the villa to talk to her, but he doesn't know that she already swore to herself to take revenge. Therefore she tells Cemil he is nothing than a liar and that she will make him pay for everything he has done to her.

Iffet episode 4 summary

Betul is in hospital. Salih, her father, finds out what happened and why.
Both Betul's parents decide to help their daughter supporting Cemil and persuading him to marry Betul. Salih helps him with money for the car insurance and his wife goes at his home, where she meets Asuman, Cemil's mother, to whom she offers gold jewels. After that she goes to the butcher's and tells Ahmet that Iffet is pregnant, wondering how comes that he didn't notice it. On the other hand, Salih tells to Cemil that Betul has cut her veins because she loves him.

Under these circumstances, attracted by money and owing Salih the insurance for the cab, Cemil suddenly splits off with Iffet, leaving the girl to despair.
Ahmet comes home and grabs Iffet cruelly and violently beating her in the street, in front of the neighbors who gather to watch. Cemil, who is at Betul's, hears noises and shouts but goes in the backyard garden, unable to hear Iffet's screaming anymore. Fortunatelly, Ali Ihsan is passing by, and takes Iffet from his father's hands to the hospital, where she loses her unborn child.

Meanwhile, Betul's parents give more money to Cemil and the two families start to visit each others and prepare the engagement and wedding. When Feyyaz finds out what happened blames on Cemil and their friendship breaks.
Ahmet starts drinking and goes at Cemil's wanting to beat him, but he can't because is very drunk. Iffet is brought home at the villa by Ali Ihsan who gives her a separate room to settle there. Dilek doesn't agree with this decision but she has no choice.

Iffet episode 3 summary

Erhan will be taken to hospital to be treated for alcoholism against his and sister's will but with the consent of his older brother, Ali Ihsan. However, there he rejects medication. Cemil meets Iffet as usual but on the other hand, Betul is in his way. Betul talks with her mother about her being in love with Cemil and later in this episode, Cemil will accept her. In the meantime, Ali Ihsan is increasingly attracted by Iffet 's innocence and beauty, and behaves colder and colder to his girlfriend, Gulin, who expects Ali to marry her after a relationship that lasts for years.

Cemil will be obliged to pay the burned cab because his friend at the insurance company can't help him. Since he has no money to pay the car, his house is  seized. Cemil's mother cries. Iffet finds out that she is pregnant and thinking that Cemil will marry her, finds a modest house for rent. At first Cemil does not agree to move together and is not at all happy that he will be a father but when she insists to visit the rented house he tells Iffet that he accepts the situation and they will marry. Then, he meets Betul and wants to end the romance that had begun between them. Iffet tells her younger sister she is pregnant but Ahmet, their father, has just arrived home and hears the conversation.

Across the street, Betul closes her room and in depression, cut her wrists and falls on the bed unconscious.

Iffet episode 2 summary

In the next period Iffet tries to forget what happened and overcome the incident. Little by little she forgives Cemil for his abominable deeds and tries to convince herself that he really loves her, that's why he forced her to make love. Though, their relationship gets worse because he begins to date Betul,  the daughter of his employer at the taxi company, which is also Iffet's best friend. Unfortunately, Betul has always felt attracted  by Cemil and somehow was envy on Iffet's luck.

For a few days Iffet's aunt, Saime, who works in a rich man's house, has managed to persuade Ahmet to let his daughter work as a maid too in the same place. Eventually, Ahmet accepts, because his butchery shop isn't going too well and they need money. Iffet is liked by Ali Ihsan, her master, but in the beginning she doesn't notice that Ali starts to have feelings for her. Dilek, Ali Ihsan's sister, becomes aware of this attraction and thinking that Iffet is a fortune hunter, rejects her whenever she can.

After several days, a few people learn about the rape and wonder why the two lovers don't get married. One day Erhan, the younger brother of Ali Ihsan and Dilek, comes home drunken and tries to kiss Emine, another servant. Iffet, remembering about her bitter experience and thinking that Erhan wants to rape Emine, hits him with a vase in his head. As the master of the house, Ali Hasan, wants to know the truth and Dilek, his sister, wants to banish Iffet away because she can't stand her. Under these circumstances a messy situation arises and the girl wants to resign from her job. Ali Ihsan doesn't agree, understanding that the fault lies with his younger brother, Erhan, who is an alcoholic and just spends the money that he and Dilek earn at their own company.

The episode ends when Cemil comes under Iffet's window one night and because he wants to show her that he loves her and doesn't care about money, he throws gasoline on his taxi and lights a match, burning the car to ashes. Soon he'll learn that he did another huge mistake ....

Iffet, presentation of the series (episode 1)

Iffet (the name means Chastity) is a beautiful girl who lives in a poor neighborhood of Istanbul together with his younger sister, Nimet, who is a high school student, and their father, Ahmet, a very severe and traditional man, who keeps short notice, and whom the girls are afraid of. He treats his daughters badly, doesn't let them have an entourage, date a boyfriend or wear modern clothes that would highlight their beauty. Ahmet thinks that chastity is the most important fortune of a woman and doesn't agree with modern thinking. The girls are kept most of the time in the house. The people from their neighborhood don't agree his behavior, but don't dare to tell him how he should raise his daughters. Despite this extremely severe parent, Iffet secretly meets Cemil, a young man who is in love with her and whom she loves, but they do not have enough money to marry and be a family. He is a taxi driver and only he can lead his daily life with the little money he earns from this job. Some friends and Nimet, know about their dating, but their father doesn't know anything yet.

During the 1st episode, at one point, Cemil and Iffet go together to the wedding of their neighbors and friends, Feyyaz (taxi driver too) and Serpil. Soon after the party has started, Cemil, who drank too much, persuades Iffet to come by his car in the forest to talk about themselves. Cemil, however, takes the opportunity and can't control himself anymore, so he rapes her. This is how the 1st episode ends.

The rapping is found out and turns into a tragedy, in a community where the old rules and family traditions still have a great echo. Iffet expects Cemil to marry her as soon as possible, but things do not happen as she wishes. Cemil leaves her when she gives him the news that she is pregnant and marries Betul, Iffet's friend and the daughter of the taxi company owner where he works. In fact, Cemil loves Iffet but the circumstances are hard for him, financially speaking, so he suddenly marries for money. When Ahmet finds out about what happened, beats and banishes her. She is rescued from Ahmet's hands by her employer (she works as a maid for a very rich man), Ali Ihsan.

The heroes lives change suddenly but their love is stronger than anything. Until they are together again, many events are to be gone through, by both of them.
